New Mutation- the SNOW!

About three years ago we produced our first Snow reticulated pythons while trying to produce Super Dwarf Albinos. Upon hatching, our python breeder Tim O'Reilly noticed that several of the babies were completely lacking any orange pigment- solid black, silver and white babies. Then came another surprise, one egg that had twin Albinos! But again, they looked different from the other vibrant orange and purple babies- they were again lacking all that orange pigment, leaving them a silvery white with purple highlights, and platinum golden eyes. Looking at the percentages of silvery babies and albino babies, he realized he was onto something genetic, and that the parents must have been double hets for Albino and this new morph. When he began to tell people what he thought, many told him he was crazy, or that it was simply natural variation in the young. Eventually, he won us all over by proving the new Anerytheristic morph to be recessive by producing more Snows and Anerys, Anery Platinums, and Anery Tigers! We are currently working with this exciting gene to produce still more morphs, and there's nothing more exciting than looking into a slit egg and seeing that silver eye staring back at us!
